At 4TFront, we’ve always believed that the quality of service our partners deliver begins with the depth of their technical knowledge. That’s why we recently hosted an intensive day of 3CX Certification Training. A demanding, hands-on programme designed to give our reseller partners the expertise they need to deploy and manage 3CX unified communications systems with complete confidence.
Two Days, Two Certifications
What set this training apart was its scope. In two intensive days, participants worked through both the 3CX Basic Certification and the 3CX Advanced Certification. A total of 12 structured chapters that took them from foundational concepts to advanced deployment, troubleshooting, and security.
This wasn’t a surface-level overview. It was a rigorous, structured programme that demanded focus and commitment from start to finish.

What the Basic Certification Covered
The first half of the programme focused on the core skills required to deploy and manage a 3CX phone system:
- Chapter 1: Hosted by 3CX or 3CX SMB, Understanding the different deployment models and choosing the right option for each customer scenario
- Chapter 2: Set Up Your Team, User management, extensions, and team configuration within the 3CX Management Console
- Chapter 3: SIP Trunks, Configuring SIP trunk connections for inbound and outbound voice communications
- Chapter 4: IP Phone Provisioning & Apps. Setting up hardware IP phones, softphones, and mobile/desktop apps for seamless connectivity
- Chapter 5: Call Handling, Designing call flows, ring groups, queues, IVRs, and routing rules to manage incoming calls effectively
- Chapter 6: Messaging, Configuring live chat, Facebook, WhatsApp, and SMS integrations within the 3CX platform
What the Advanced Certification Covered
The second half of the day stepped up in complexity, covering the technical depth required for enterprise deployments and real-world support scenarios:
- Chapter 7: 3CX On-Premise & Self-Hosting. Deploying 3CX on dedicated hardware or virtual machines, including Linux and Windows Server environments
- Chapter 8: Firewall Configuration, Configuring firewalls, NAT, and port forwarding to ensure reliable SIP and media traffic flow
- Chapter 9: Backup & Restore, Implementing backup strategies and disaster recovery procedures for 3CX deployments
- Chapter 10: Bridges, Configuring SIP bridges for multi-site deployments and inter-PBX connectivity
- Chapter 11: Basic Troubleshooting, Using diagnostic tools including Wireshark packet capture and SIP trace analysis to identify and resolve call quality and connectivity issues
- Chapter 12: Security & Anti-Fraud. Implementing security best practices, intrusion detection, anti-fraud measures, and toll fraud prevention
What Is 3CX?
For those less familiar with the platform, 3CX is a software-based private branch exchange and unified communications system used by businesses around the world. Unlike traditional hardware-based phone systems, 3CX runs on standard hardware or in the cloud, providing:
- Voice calling, SIP-based calling over internet connections
- Video conferencing, Integrated video meetings without third-party subscriptions
- Live chat and messaging, Website live chat, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, and SMS from a single interface
- Mobile and desktop apps, Work-from-anywhere capability through iOS, Android, and desktop applications
- Contact centre features: Call queues, wallboards, call recording, and reporting
3CX is trusted by hundreds of thousands of businesses worldwide and is supported by a global network of certified partners who design, deploy, and manage these systems for their customers.

Hands-On, Real-World Training
One of the defining features of this training was its practical depth. Participants got hands-on with real tools and real scenarios.
The advanced sessions included live Wireshark packet analysis, where participants captured and dissected SIP traffic in real time, examining display filters, SDP negotiation, media exchanges, and INVITE packets. This is the kind of diagnostic skill that separates a good technician from a great one.
The training environment at 4TFront’s premises provided everything needed for effective learning: a dedicated conference space, individual workstations, a large display for instructor-led demonstrations, and direct access to 3CX systems for configuration and testing.
That same hands-on approach runs through the product demos and info sessions we take part in. In July 2026 our team joined the SIP Caller and PRD teams in Prato for a live demo and info session on outbound dialing for 3CX, working through real business use cases in the room.
Our Certified Partner
We’re proud to recognise FGL Information Technology (Forestals) for completing this intensive certification programme. Their team showed exceptional focus and commitment throughout the day, working through all 12 chapters and earning both their Basic and Advanced 3CX certifications.
FGL’s investment in their team’s professional development is a reflection of the standard of service they bring to their customers. Having certified 3CX partners means that businesses working with FGL can be confident that their communications infrastructure is being designed, deployed, and managed by people with verified, current expertise.
Why 3CX Certification Matters
In a telecommunications landscape that’s constantly evolving, with the shift to cloud communications, remote work, and unified platforms certification isn’t just a badge. It’s a signal to customers that the team they’re working with has been trained to the highest standard, understands the platform deeply, and is equipped to handle everything from initial deployment to advanced troubleshooting and security hardening.
At 4TFront, we invest in partner training because we believe a stronger, more knowledgeable partner network means better outcomes for every customer we collectively serve. When our partners succeed, their customers succeed and that’s exactly how it should be.
